Reception of New Students

This reception is for you, our new students, who will be studying here at Linköping University. The goal of the reception is for everyone to feel welcome and to receive an introduction to both academic and social life in Linköping and Norrköping. Many people have the impression that the orientation is meant to be humiliating. This is not the case at LiU. According to surveys and studies, more than 85% of students are satisfied with their orientation.

LinTek's role

During the spring and summer, LinTek’s reception coordinator works to coordinate the reception process among all relevant parties. Their role is to ensure smooth collaboration between mentor programs, student sections, academic advisors, math instructors, representatives from Student Health Services and LiTH, as well as everyone else involved in welcoming the fall semester’s incoming students. You can contact the reception coordinator at mottagning@lintek.liu.se if you have any questions or feedback regarding your first days at LiTH.

LiTH also considers a warm welcome so important that it provides financial support. This support goes to LinTek, which then distributes it among the sections. An agreement is drawn up before each orientation to outline the responsibilities of the sections and LinTek. If the agreement is not followed, the funds will not be distributed.

Joint Reception

At Linköping University, the rules and standards are the same during orientation, regardless of whether you belong to LinTek, StuFF, or Consensus. We have the same reception policy, training programs, etc.

We have this in place so that everyone has the same conditions and rules during the reception. This also prevents any misunderstandings regarding what is and isn’t allowed. We also want to encourage sections to interact across section and faculty boundaries.
